Welcome back everyone, happy to have you here. Today’s podcast is an hour of in the pocket, hip shaking, instrumental 45s.

Brother Jack McDuff’s Oblighetto is an absolutely singular record with an eerie dissonance interwoven with his masterful playing. Les McCann and Eddie Harris are All Stars in my book, Eddie’s electrified / Moog-ified sax and Les on keys or the mic are endlessly engaging. The single version of Cold Duck here is taken from their unrehearsed Swiss session which is very famous and for good reason and is always worth another re-listen.
Pianist Lloyd Glenn’s wonderful “Love For Sale” also deserves a little extra attention. The oldest track in the mix but just bubbling with charm, I was happy to stumble upon it while digging.

Hope you enjoy today’s mix. Until next time,

-George / Snack Attack
