Musical Episode #059 : Clap & Shimmy

The Fabulous Counts out of Detroit are featured on this week’s podcast of funky and soulful 45s with their side “Get Down People.”

  • Listen to this podcast as a Spotify playlist here (though note, spotify doesn’t have all / many of the songs featured on the site so some playlists may be incomplete or feature slightly different versions than the original 45s I’m referring to here. This one was pretty dismal!)

Welcome back everyone! Been a pretty overwhelming summer so far and I haven’t had much time or energy to spare other than for work and a rare moment to breathe and it doesn’t look like that’s gonna change soon. But fear not, I am prepping a few podcasts now so there will be another regular batch scheduled and coming.

This week’s mix is another batch of soulful and funky 45s, no grand narrative to this one, just a bunch of stompin, clappin and beautiful records! No talking / hosting on this one and unlikely there will be any on the next batch.

Hope you enjoy these 45s and you’re vaccinated if you’re able to be and staying healthy!

Peace,

-George / Snack Attack
